DIY Horse Race Thing
A downloadable diy hrt for Windows
Welcome to DIY Horse Race Thing!
Based on, and made with love for, Horse Race Testing, by Blake Andrews (@snakesandrews)

This is a small little toy that lets you make small maps with obstacles and walls, and then let little horses run around, until one bumps into the carrot and wins. The idea is to play with friends and bet who will end up winning!
You can both make MAPS and HORSES. And i encourauge you to do so, and share them in the comments below!!!
My hope is that people will post a few custom things of their own, recordings of races, and stuff like that! I'd love to see that!
With time i hope to update this, maybe add a few of the custom horses and maps that are posted, and add more obstacles and things!
extra thing i forgot:
You can move the starting positions with the numbers 1-7!
And go fullscreen with F or f11!
And reset the level with R!

You can remove the noise in options and why not changing it with the computer audio bar?

yeah, but this is happening with a spritesheet for me tho
i personally just trace over the template to get the right spacing but also you gotta make a seperate file which is just the not filled in space so you can recolor it when importin

Basically you select CARROT-STARTS, hover your cursor over where you want a spawn point, and then click the numberkey on your keyboard. I did a lot of spamming of the numbers to have them so close to the houses in Horse Neighborhood, came out super cute!

I also had this issue but managed to fix it,
so first you have to make sure the horse .png files are in the actual customhorses folder, as well as the .horse file being saved in that same folder when you save that horse.
Also ! You can make folders inside the the customhorses folder for .png files organization but not the .horse files, that's also give you an error like that

I had an issue where I tried to create a custom horse without a BG
It worked, but it was massively out of scale and did not look good at all

how do you make a .horse file im so confused please help me because i cant use these again (all the lizards in general)
You just create a horse and then you click on load horse skin and you choose 1 lizard then you will click on load horse BG color and click on the same lizard (if the horse you want to load have a BG then use it) and if you want you can choose a color with the RGB bars to change the color of the smoke and the paint it lets around. Finally you click on "Name and save horse" you save it in customhorses folder and you will get your horse. (ALL THESE STEPS ARE IN THE FILE IN THE GAME FOLDER "HOW TO HORSE.txt")

Yes you can you only need to create a horse and copy the same pose for each sprite.
As far as commissions go, can I do Commissions for custom horses ( drawing a custom horse for MONEY ) assuming that I don't directly use the template ( So not just filling it in, but rather drawing over it, drawing over it both being something completely different or just following the shape/tracing it)?

You likely didn't save the image, or horse in the "custom horses" folder, if its something else you can see the "HOW TO HORSE.txt" or "TROUBLESHOOTING.txt" for more help
this happened to me but it stopped when i named my horse in all lowercase letters (?)
