Replicated. This happens when skull lvl 2 has bone and there are no spots left in row.
I looked at the code and there is a bug in gml_Script_EffectTypesAfterDeath. The issue is that when the skull has a bone, it first creates a boner directly under the lvl 2 skull that died. This succeeds. However, after this happens, it will attempt to create a lvl 1 skull. This fails since there are no spots left. (the return value of gml_Script_Summon is invalid). However, the code then tries to apply the effect of the skull - namely to give the lvl 1 skull the bone item. To do this, it attempts to access the skull instance with the return value of gml_Script_Summon. This return value was invalid though since there were no spots left. Hence, it will crash.
also i had replied to this but seems that itch ate my reply! ill get it fixed in the weekend, though weird that i didn't spot that one (i always thought the bug was in the Summon script itself, damn)
The mail ghoul is object type 0 on the browser and I think it just thought the invalid instance with id 0 returned by the summon script was a mail ghoul.
My first super-maxed (99/99) unit! And also my first Turn 20+ victory! I guess if you wanted, an update could just immediately give the King maxed stats at T20+ too, since you definitely need to know how to reach that point anyways.
Great game, I return to it from time to time. Yesterday I have finally achieved my goal to win 10 consecutive games without a HP loss, it was fun :). Looking forward for possible updates.

Interface bug: Farmer says it gives +2 health, but it gives +1 at level 1 and +2 at level 2.
EDIT: Another bug I noticed is the audio. After you lose a game and restart, it keeps playing the "game over" screen music and regular music at the same time.
Hey! I have idea! What about a vampire that heal 1 HP for every enemy it attack. It could be either three or fourth bones as level and the stats would be 1 attack and 4 HP at merge one. At merge 2 could have 2 Attack 5-7 HP and heal 2 HP for every hit. Mabye to OP but It's still an idea
I've seen Knights and Archers in turns before getting T4 units, and sometimes Snitches appear a wave earlier than expected. Is it ok to ask when exactly do specific enemies appear, or if it's based on current tier or based on castle health?
I'm pretty sure things are partly based on time, partly based on castle damage.
Stop Signal might tell us... but the other person would be ja_kingy, who I believe dug into the code a bit in order to craft their 4 turn win, and thus probably knows some details behind the scenes.
After a little bit of digging, my current understanding of how it works is:
The enemy units from previous turns actually carry over to the next turn. However, at the start of each turn, a 'summoning' occurs which inserts some number of new enemy units or replaces old units with a different type. The exact number is based on a bit of randomness, turn number, player health and king health.
Each turn, some new units are added or replace old units.
For the first three turns, only Supporter can be added
For the next two turns, Supporter, Royalist, Snitch can be added
For the next three turns, Guard, Royalist, Snitch can be added
For all remaining turns or when the king life is less than 12, Archer, Knight, APC, Guard can be added.
Then, an enemy type is chosen uniformly at random from the possible options.
This enemy will then be inserted randomly at the end of an available row.
If no space can be found, the weakest enemy in the lane is replaced.
Finally, if this is the round when the king comes out, the princes and king replace the units in the first spots.
For reference,
tier 1 bones starts first turn
tier 2 starts third turn
tier 3 starts sixth turn
tier 4 starts 11th turn (or when king health drops below 12)
These do not align exactly with the stages of more difficult enemies, hence you seeing some archers and knights or snitches early.
Good job on 7 turns, but nah- definitely not the first. Have to go back to older comment pages, but pretty sure there's a 6 turn win somewhere around here.

I dont know, may be its not errors and everything of it should be, but you have a link in the game to musicwriter (Or no...?), so, I guess, that its a real bug

Won the game with 0 health remaining using big bone and summoning synergy (bard + guitarist + summoner) by turn 12. Hard game, but really fun.

The game is original and I enjoyed it, even if it's a lil bit difficult. The skeletons are so funny, specially Excalibur (I love excalibur) :D
I was curious how high you can juice up Excalibur, by stacking level 3 blacksmith and delayed Excalibur upgrades.

Feature request: please implement 3-digit numbers, so I can one-shot the king even harder 😁. My boy would have had over 180 damage if it were allowed.
