Small update and FANART WOO


FIRST OF ALL: I have been reading ALL your comment for ideas and things, and you guys surprised me completely, tons of comments, really well thought off stuff and imaginative ideas! Lots of things i honestly want to add. You guys rock! I'll try to make a post replying to it all later on but for now i just want to say thanks :) Some of you got really inspired and posted a lot and it's great to read it all.

Will slowly start posting about the ideas that could get in with time!

NURSE - Changed description.

WIZARD - Changed. (Before he was (2)(1), now he is (1),(3), this should make him survive way more in to archer fire at the end of the game)

PIGMAN - Buffed. now his life is (4), before was (3)

SPAWNER BUILDS: Now summoning should be fixed, and the spawns predictable. Oops!


Please comment any bugs or crashes you find, as this is the first ever build published fully with Gamemaker 2! Sorry Gamemaker 1.4, you don't have android support, even if you have a better UI :(

bug: It seems both blessing and the wizards loaded spell are counted as items. If you cast the blessing spell directly on a wizard he doesn't shoot his magic on the next step. Similarly if the wizard has blessing on him and you cast another spell, then blessing is removed to make space for the wizards loaded spell

bug: higher level nurses can "heal" above a units maximum health if the heal is more than the damage taken

I have a quality-of-life suggestion: When you turn a unit to level 3 you get a bonus unit, but if you don't use that unit and turn another one to level 3, you end up not getting an additional unit. Maybe some sort of "layering" can be added where the unit is added "behind" the current one, maybe they can even be switchable, or you could even make the unit change to one of an even higher level... just throwing ideas.

I've been meaning to change that for a while, actually, but in a simple way, if it's not frozen, it should be replaced for a new one!

I can't recall why i didn't do it at the time, but I haven't checked that code in a while. Shouldn't be hard, but who knows!

That does make sense, and not being able to "stack" it adds more to strategy and having to work with what you have.

Bug/exploit:
If you have something frozen, re-roll and then quickly un-freeze before the roll has finished then both actions occur. i.e the previous thing is frozen and a new thing is rolled so you are left with 2 overlapping items/guys that can both be bought from the same square.

You may have gained Android support... but you've lost Pale Moon support. Pale Moon is my main browser, and it was able to play this just yesterday, but now all it gives me is a blank grey square.

Interesting! I'll check this out when i get home! I hope i can fix it somehow, though it might be a Gamemaker thing i'm afraid. I'll give it a try, though!

It might be complicated to do, but if the browser has a developer console, could you show me the errors it throws? Seems Pale Moon is based on the same kind of code as Mozilla, (Goanna?)  so i hope it's not broken there as well. I might download it later to try though, if i'm not dead from work!

Yeah, Pale Moon is a fork of an old version of Firefox. It... has increasing problems supporting newer games and stuff, but aside from that I still overall prefer it to what modern Firefox has turned into. I keep Firefox around as a backup browser, so can confirm, it does work just fine there. Completed another run in it, with 6 upgraded mausoleums and everything. Well, kind of fine; while in Pale Moon the music was oddly absent even when the game did work, in Firefox it is mostly fine but I did once encounter an odd bug upon restarting that caused two of the songs to play at the same time until I refreshed? Anyway, errors:

I notice the differences in the last three errors, and suspect that these last three are both not an issue, and not caused by the game itself, but rather the fact that I use NoScript and don't trust any google sites.

Oh hey, fellow Classic Firefox fan! I was using Waterfox for a while but they've dropped plugin support, so I found a script for Tabs On Top and made the changeover.

I have been preferring uBlock plus uMatrix to NoScript plus Adblock, though - made that switch earlier, when it just a lot more precise and transparent than NoScript. NoScript has probably also gotten better, though?
